Comments: I have personally designed The Wrestling Academy Camp System so that each wrestler will learn and apply as much as possible while attending our camps. While most collegiate camps have anywhere from 300-400 wrestlers per camp, our camps have less than 50 wrestlers. This gives your camper the opportunity to get to know his/her instructor by name and begin to build a lasting relationship. If you are truly seeking the top instruction and camp for your money The Wrestling Academy has proven year after year their program show results. www.AcademyTrained.com http://m.b5z.net/i/u/6129731/i/Summer_Camps_Brochure.pdf

Tournament Format:  Camp      Eligibility:   Open
Contact:  Rodney Potter     info@gaelitewrestling.com
Accepting New Entries:  Yes          Fee:  $265-$365
Comments: Full camp details can be found at http://www.gaelitewrestling.com Event is June 10 - 13 and features the following clinicians: Lee Kemp - 3X World Champion, Randy Lewis - Olympic Champion, Tom Shifflet - 3X Division I All-American/Hofstra Univ Head Coach, Keith Walton - Former Georgia State University Head Coach, Joe Watson - Junior College National Champion. The Georgia Elite Advanced Camp incorporates world-class clinicians, intense drilling, and live wrestling, and is designed for the experienced wrestler looking to fine-tune his skills and add to his offensive attack. Campers will be shown new techniques, given an opportunity to perfect them through high repetition, and expected to be able to demonstrate and perform them effectively. Our instructors are among the best in the world and each of them know what is required to become a champion of the sport, as they have trained, competed, and coached at the highest level. Each day will consist of two technique sessions and one live wrestling session. Each technique session is instructed by one or more lead clinicians while current college-level wrestlers assist by providing mat support, increasing the coach:athlete ratio and maximizing individual attention. At the end of each technique session, campers will be placed into situations and will wrestle live from those positions. Each evening will conclude with a live wrestling session, in which campers are paired with other campers of similar weight and experience. Our goal is for each camper to walk away with a clear understanding of the following: · The attitude and commitment it takes to excel at the sport of wrestling · Takedowns and set-ups that work at the highest level of competition · Counter attacks from the feet · How to maintain good position on your feet and on the mat · Effective front headlocks and go-behind techniques from the short-offense position · Pinning combinations that will turn even the toughest opponents · Legs & tilts from the mat · The stand up and a series of reversals that enable continuous chain wrestling from bottom

Georgia Elite Wrestling`s Beginner`s Camp

Start Date:
Tuesday 6/10/2008  Days: 3
Location:    Georgia Mountain Center Arena - Gainesville, GA
Tournament Format:  Camp      Eligibility:   Open
Contact:  Rodney Potter     info@gaelitewrestling.com     (404) 625-3397
Accepting New Entries:  Yes          Fee:  $225-$325
Comments: Features many of Georgia`s top High School Coaches including Jeff Bedard, Cliff Ramos, Josh Stephen, Rodney Potter, Joey Dinino, Charlie Higdon, Jim Steffan, Mike Stephen, Jason McCrary, and others. The Georgia Elite Beginner’s Camp is designed for the novice wrestler interested in acquiring the basic skills necessary for early wrestling success. It brings ten of Georgia’s most respected high school coaches together to teach campers the knowledge of how to perform high-percentage techniques, guide them through proper execution in a hands-on format, and provide useful feedback to each athlete. The focus of this camp is on a low camper:coach ratio (no more than 10:1) so that each athlete will receive the most individual attention possible, maximizing learning and retention. Every aspect of this camp is organized and carefully detailed. Each technique session, campers will be placed in group of ten or less and spend their time with a different coach, learning the techniques that have helped them develop great wrestlers and great teams. Each technique session will conclude with a short review session in which athletes drill the techniques they have been taught with high repetition in order to develop muscle memory and maximize learning and retention. It is recommended that campers bring a notebook to write down the steps of each technique they have been taught immediately after each session concludes. Each evening, campers will conclude their day with a live wrestling session, where they are paired with other campers of similar age, weight, and experience level and asked to put into action what they have been taught throughout the day. Our instructors will oversee their wrestling and provide useful feedback to campers as they come off the mat. Our instructors are selected based not only on their skill knowledge, but also on their unique ability to break down detailed instruction in a manner that will not teach over the heads of the beginning wrestler. Our goal is for each camper to walk away with a clear understanding of the following: · The attitude and commitment it takes to excel at the sport of wrestling · Basic set-ups and takedowns requied for success · Basic defense and counter attacks from the feet · Stance and position on your feet · Mat awareness and strategy · Effective front headlocks and go-behind techniques from the short-offense position · Pinning combinations that will turn even the toughest opponents · Legs & and leg defense from the mat · The stand up and a series of reversals that enable continuous chain wrestling from bottom

The wrestling camp will feature Roy Hall, Head Coach of Davidson High School in Michigan, and Jeff Walrich, Head Coach for Holy Innocents’. Coach Hall was the 2005 Coach of the Year; his teams have won six state championships in the largest classification in Michigan. He also coached current 125lb national champ, Paul Donahoe, Chase Metcalf, Brent Metcalf – currently wrestling for Iowa, and Jon Reader wrestling for Iowa State. He was a 2x captain at MSU, a 4x NCAA National Qualifier, and the 1990 Bronze Medalist at the Olympic Festival. He also has coached many national champions, state champions, All-Americans, and state placers in Michigan. I am going to have a limited spots available for this camp. He also told me he is going to bring a couple of his current athletes to the camp. This is different then most clinicians, as this is a true high school coach that comes in and `TEACHES` wrestling technique that can be successful in the High School level and beyond! Take a look at Davidson`s website for more info on him and his team. http://www.fcpsports.com/teamsitepro/davison_wrestling/ He is one of the most respected coaches that I have come across. If you are truly seeking the top instruction and camp for your money The Wrestling Academy has proven year after year their program show results. http://m.b5z.net/i/u/6129731/i/Summer_Camps_Brochure.pdf
